Resume

John Ley's BIRTHplace ... 36 Degrees 12' S  147 Degrees 15' E
Over the past forty years, I have acquired a wealth of experience working with a wide range of people in the education, construction, and entertainment sectors.

I have lectured in Indigenous Community Management and Development at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies, Curtin University of Technology.

I have worked in entertainment and education forums as a lecturer and teacher of performance, presentation, and communication skills.

As a domestic builder and renovator I supervised and managed building contracts with private clients in Victoria and New South Wales. Between building projects, I ran my own furniture design and antique restoration business working for antique dealers and private clients - my work includes pieces at the National Gallery, Canberra; State Gallery, Victoria; and in many private collections.

In the entertainment industry I worked as a producer, director, writer, and actor on feature, short and corporate films, theatre productions, concerts and festivals. I have supervised and co-ordinated production teams, construction crews, and performers. I appeared in numerous film, theatre, and television productions with many of Australia’s most celebrated directors and performers.

I am a writer and my work includes poetry, drama and documentary scripts, journalism, project proposals, exhibition catalogues, and corporate documents for community organizations, institutions and commercial clients.
